Job summary

Qualifications

• BSc (Hons) in Clinical Physiology or equivalent, with a current professional registration (e.g., RCCP or HCPC).
• Significant experience in cardiology clinical physiology, including advanced knowledge and skills in procedures such as echocardiography, ECG, exercise tests, and invasive cardiology.
• Proficient in the interpretation and reporting of clinical procedures and results, with excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with patients, carers, and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform ECGs, Holter monitoring, or exercise tolerance tests, within your competency and training, in line with clinical guidance and Trust policies and procedures.
• Responsible for managing patient appointments, explaining procedures to patients, and ensuring the tests are carried out safely; senior staff will be on hand for advice as needed.
• Cardiac Rhythm Management, including the implantation and follow-up of pacemakers and ICDs, as well as technical support during electrophysiology studies.
• Transthoracic echocardiograms and assistance with Transoesophageal echocardiograms.
• Cardiopulmonary exercise tests and the analysis and reporting of results.
