Job summary

The Princess Margaret Hospital in Windsor, part of Circle Health Group, is seeking a Cardiac Physiologist for a bank role to support expanding cardiology services. The post is on an “as and when required” basis, supplementing staffing during busy periods and covering annual leave or absence.

You will perform non-invasive cardiac investigations, echocardiography, and assist in interventional procedures, with training provided where applicable.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer care and dealing with challenging situations.
• Degree or higher qualification in Clinical physiology or equivalent / ONC / BTEC.
• Device or Echocardiography accreditation (BHRS/BHRE/BSE).
• Must be able to perform Echocardiogram tests.

Responsibilities

• Perform and interpret non-invasive cardiac tests including ECGs, Holter, event recorders, and BP monitoring.
• Carry out and report exercise tolerance tests (ETTs), tilt table testing, and other functional assessments.
• Undertake and interpret echocardiograms (transthoracic, transoesophageal, and stress echo when trained).
• Assist in cardiac catheterisation procedures, including angiograms, angioplasties, and right heart studies.
• Monitor intra-cardiac pressures and waveforms during procedures.
• Provide technical support during pacemaker, ICD, and CRT implantations.
• Conduct device checks and follow-ups per current guidelines.
• Analyse device data to guide clinical decisions.

The Princess Margaret Hospital Bank Shifts Salary: Up to £30.00 per hour (depending on level of experience, training and qualification). The Princess Margaret Hospital in Windsor is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country. We have an opportunity for a Cardiac Physiologist to join their team of staff. This is to support the growing Cardiology services within the hospital. This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.

Duties of this role include:

• Perform and interpret a wide range of non-invasive cardiac investigations including resting ECGs, Holter monitoring, event recorders, and blood pressure monitoring.
• Carry out and report on exercise tolerance tests (ETTs), tilt table testing, and other functional assessments.
• Undertake and interpret echocardiograms (transthoracic, transoesophageal, and stress echo, if appropriately trained).
• Assist in cardiac catheterisation procedures, including angiograms, angioplasties, and right heart studies.
• Monitor and record intra-cardiac pressures and waveforms during diagnostic and interventional procedures.
• Provide technical support during pacemaker, ICD, and CRT implantations.
• Conduct pacemaker, ICD, and CRT device checks and follow-ups in accordance with current guidelines.
• Analyse device data and provide expert interpretation to guide clinical decisions.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Current knowledge of a range of clinical specialties and developments in clinical practice.
• Experience of customer care, including interacting with customers in challenging situations.
• A degree in Clinical physiology or equivalent / ONC / BTEC in physiological measurement and medical physics.
• Device or Echocardiography accreditation (BHRS/BHRE/BSE).
• Must be able to carry out Echocardiogram test.
