Job summary

Nuffield Health Cambridge Hospital is seeking a Cardiac Physiologist to join the Cardiology bank team. You will perform and report transthoracic echocardiograms, maintain patient care standards, and support the cardiology team in diagnosis and management.

The role is bank/ad hoc and varies with service needs. Key requirements include a relevant degree in Clinical Physiology or Healthcare Science, RCCP/AHCS registration, BSE accreditation (desirable), and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Degree in Clinical Physiology, Healthcare Science (Cardiac Science) or equivalent.
• Registration with RCCP, AHCS or equivalent.
• BSE accreditation is desirable.
• Experience in cardiac investigations and diagnostic testing.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient-focused, organized and able to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform, interpret and report adult transthoracic echocardiograms.
• Maintain high standards of patient care, safety and dignity.
• Accurate record keeping using PACS and RIS.
• Support consultants and cardiology team in diagnosis and management.
• Ensure compliance with departmental policies and quality standards.
• Engage inservice improvements and CPD activities.

As a Cardiac Physiologist at our Cambridge Hospital, you'll hold either a BTEC ONC and HNC in Medical Physics and Physiological Measurement, or a BSc in Clinical Science /Physiology (or equivalent). You're currently registered with the RCCP as a Clinical Physiologist. Ideally, you're also accredited with SCST and BSE. You're flexible, motivated and a team player.

As a Cardiac Physiologist, you will:

• Perform, interpret and report adult Transthoracic Echocardiograms.


• Ensure high standards of patient care, safety and dignity at all times.


• Accurate record keeping using PACS, RIS


• Support consultants and the wider cardiology team in the diagnosis and management of their patients.


• Maintain compliance with departmental policies, professional standards and quality assurance requirements.


• Participate in service improvement initiatives and continuing professional development.

We are looking for an individual who:

• Holds a degree in Clinical Physiology, Healthcare Science (Cardiac Science) or equivalent relevant qualification.


• Is registered with an appropriate professional body such as RCCP, AHCS or equivalent.


• Has accreditation with BSE


• Has experience in cardiac investigations and diagnostic testing.


• Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


• Is patient-focused, organised and able to work independently and as part of a team.


• Shows commitment to ongoing professional development.


• Knowledge of current cardiac physiology standards and best practice.
