Job summary

Engine by Starling is seeking a specialist to manage day-to-day communications with card schemes, handle incidents, and ensure compliance of the card processor. You will work with product, engineering and client success to align with Visa/Mastercard mandates.

The role covers product strategy, requirements gathering, and technical ownership across multiple card schemes, with a strong emphasis on problem solving and cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience in card payments: Visa/Mastercard, card payment regulatory compliance, 3DS, mobile wallets, card processing.
• Card payments and card scheme knowledge / experience in the debit or credit card industry
• 2+ years experience working in a Financial Institution, preferably in banking
• Experience working across different regions and jurisdictions is a plus
• You are comfortable leading multiple workstreams on the go
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to effectively partner with different teams on a regular basis and build effective working relations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Review Visa and Mastercard bulletins and cascade to teams.
• Ensure mandates align with card scheme requirements and deadlines.
• Ensure compliance with Visa/Mastercard scheme rules.
• Serve as technical point of contact with Card Schemes (Mastercard, Visa).
• Provide technical support on card projects across multiple schemes.
• Act as escalation point for card queries and issues with engineering and delivery teams.
• Help design solutions meeting client needs and future roadmap items.
• Maintain card product documentation and FAQs.
