Job summary

Hawk Hiring is seeking an experienced vehicle technician for a brand-new specialist workshop in Lewes Area, East Sussex. The role offers Monday–Friday daytime hours, no weekends, and a guaranteed base salary with clear progression toward Senior Technician level.

You will work in a 4x4 and SUV environment, perform core repairs, diagnostics, and servicing with modern tooling and mentorship from senior technicians.

Qualifications

• Hands-on mechanical repair experience in a workshop or dealership.
• Ability to diagnose faults and use diagnostic software.
• Experience with 4x4/SUV systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Core repairs: brakes, suspension, steering, clutches, exhausts.
• Diagnostics and upskilling with senior technicians.

What You'll Do

• Core Repairs: Brakes, suspension components, steering setups, clutches, and exhaust systems.
• Diagnostics & Upskilling: Work alongside senior technicians using diagnostic software to master complex electrical troubleshooting.
• Servicing & VHCs: Routine vehicle servicing, scheduled maintenance, multi-point safety inspections, and digital Vehicle Health Checks.

What We Need

• Qualifications: NVQ Level 2/3 / City & Guilds / IMI (or equivalent time-served experience).
• Background: Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in a professional garage, independent workshop, or dealership setting.
• Licence: Full UK Driving Licence.
