Job summary

A housing solutions provider in England is seeking a Capital Works Surveyor to support planned improvements across 5,200 homes. Capital Works Surveyor - Housing Kitchen and Bathroom

60.00 Umbrella / 45.00 PAYE (Inside IR35)

Interim Contract

An interim opportunity has arisen within a Housing Directorate to support the delivery of planned improvements and major repairs across a housing stock of 5,200+ homes.

Working within the Planned Works Team and/or Repairs Service, the Housing Surveyor will play a key role in supporting the capital investment programme and major works delivery, ensuring homes are safe, compliant, and meet the Decent Homes Standard. The postholder will be customer-focused, embedding equality and diversity across all aspects of service delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver contract management and quality assurance across planned works and major repairs programmes
  • Carry out site inspections, surveys, and scoping of works across occupied housing stock
  • Support delivery of improvement workstreams including kitchens, bathrooms, roofing, windows, doors, and internal/external refurbishments
  • Oversee major and complex repairs on behalf of the Repairs Service
  • Ensure quality standards are met and value for money is achieved
  • Liaise effectively with residents, contractors, and internal stakeholders
  • Monitor health & safety compliance on site, including CDM requirements
  • Report to Housing Property Team Leaders, providing technical and commercial input as required
Requirements
  • Degree or HND in Building Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline orQualified by extensive relevant experience within housing, property services, or planned works delivery
  • Strong knowledge of social housing standards including the Decent Homes Standard, HHSRS, and landlord statutory responsibilities
  • Experience and/or working knowledge of CDM Regulations and Health & Safety
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong customer-focused approach
  • Proven experience in contract management and quality assurance within residential environments
