Capital Actuary - Senior Modelling & Stakeholder Lead

Job summary

Valayo is seeking an experienced Capital Actuary in London to lead capital modelling initiatives within a leading London Market insurer. You will work on complex technical projects, presenting findings to senior stakeholders and influencing decisions around capital adequacy and model development.

The role offers breadth of exposure across inflation, geopolitics and cyber risk and includes leading reviews, managing projects and mentoring junior colleagues while staying technically hands-on.

Qualifications

• Qualified Actuary (FIA or equivalent).
• Strong background in General Insurance capital modelling.
• Broad technical understanding of capital models, methodologies and risk drivers.
• Experience with capital model review, validation or independent challenge would be advantageous.
• Good understanding of Solvency II and relevant capital regulatory requirements.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to challenge technical assumptions and present findings to senior stakeholders.
• Experience managing projects and supporting junior colleagues.
