Job description
Overview

Do you want to support patients moving faster through their cancer pathway? The Dermatology Department at Colchester is looking for someone to support the Skin cancer pathway by ensuring no delays and liaising with clinical and non‑clinical teams.

The role supports the Trust's National Cancer Waiting Times Standards and will be trained and developed within the Operational Team.

Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with the Operational Team to support the Trust in achieving National Cancer Waiting Times Standards.
  • Act as the key link ensuring patients on a cancer pathway are processed in a timely and efficient manner, in line with the Best Practice Pathways.
  • Identify and troubleshoot blockages in patient pathways, providing proactive information in anticipation of potential problems, actively developing solutions and escalating as necessary to the Operational Team/Clinical lead.
  • Contact patients and tertiary centres directly to facilitate a prompt resolution to any pathway issues or delays.
  • Track patient pathways and maintain regular communication with clinicians.
  • Operate independently for the majority of the time, with support through regular meetings with the Dermatology team.
