Job summary

NHS Jobs is seeking a Rotational Pharmacist for Cancer & Technical Services to provide a high quality, evidence-based clinical pharmacy service for cancer services, parenteral nutrition and palliative care. The role includes aseptics, serving as Authorised Pharmacist for final check and release, and working with the multidisciplinary nutrition and chemotherapy teams.

Responsibilities

• Plan and organise the day-to-day running of the aseptic unit with a senior technician.
• Be an Authorised Pharmacist for final check and release of aseptically prepared products.
• Contribute to GMP documentation preparation.
• Apply Good Clinical Practice in supervision and release of IMPs for trials.
• Work with the multidisciplinary nutrition team for PN prescribing, monitoring and management.
• Liaise with the chemotherapy day unit to ensure patient needs are met.
• Clinically screen SACT prescriptions.
• Deputise for the Lead Pharmacist Aseptic Services when absent.
• Provide a clinical pharmacy service to Greenwich and Bexley Community Hospice.
• Deputise for the Lead Pharmacist Cancer Services and Palliative Care.
• Monitor drug usage against budgets and provide cost-saving advice.
• Develop prescribing guidelines and proformas; evaluate new treatments.
