Job summary

NHS Scotland is seeking a Cancer Tracker to support cancer teams by navigating and tracking patients referred urgently to the service, coordinating with staff across hospital departments to minimise delays.

You will identify patients who may breach the 62-day target from urgent referral to first treatment, escalate to the appropriate management team, and prepare accurate weekly reports for the Health Board and Scottish Government.

Responsibilities

• Support the cancer teams by navigating and tracking all patients who are referred urgently to the service, communicating with staff in all hospital departments to ensure delays are minimised.
• Identify patients who may breach the national waiting time target of 62-days from urgent referral to first treatment, take appropriate action and elevate to the relevant management team.
• Provide accurate information for a weekly report to be submitted to the Health Board and the Scottish Government.
