Job summary

Source Group International is seeking a Senior Tech Lead / Senior Camunda and Java Software Engineer to drive a Camunda to CIBseven migration in a large enterprise. You will architect and develop Java 17+ microservices while mentoring the team and guiding DevOps practices.

The role is fully remote, with collaboration across Agile teams to deliver high-quality software for critical workflow platforms.

Qualifications

• Extensive commercial experience with Camunda and/or CIBseven.
• Strong expertise in BPMN process modelling and runtime operations.
• Senior-level Java back end development experience and strong knowledge of Java 17+, Spring Boot, REST APIs, JPA/Hibernate, Microservices, OpenAPI.
• Hands-on experience with Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines.
• Azure cloud experience, preferably including Azure Service Bus and MS SQL Server.

Responsibilities

• Lead the migration from Camunda to CIBseven, providing technical guidance.
• Act as the go-to specialist for workflow orchestration and BPMN modelling.
• Design, build and maintain Java 17+ applications within a microservices architecture.
• Coach and mentor team members and drive architectural discussions.
• Support and optimise production systems and contribute to DevOps practices.

We are currently searching for a Senior Tech Lead/Senior Camunda/Java Software Engineer with deep expertise in Camunda and/or CIBseven to join a team responsible for critical workflow and process automation platforms within a complex enterprise environment.

This is a high-impact role where you'll take a leading position in a strategic Camunda to CIBseven migration programme, acting as the technical authority while helping shape the long-term architecture of a modern microservices landscape.

Working fully remotely, you'll collaborate with experienced engineers, drive technical decisions, mentor colleagues, and contribute to the ongoing evolution of mission-critical business applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the migration from Camunda to CIBseven, providing technical expertise and best-practice guidance.
• Act as the go-to specialist for workflow orchestration, BPMN process modelling and related technologies.
• Design, build and maintain modern Java 17+ applications within a complex enterprise ecosystem.
• Coach and mentor team members, helping build internal expertise across Camunda/CIBseven.
• Contribute to architectural discussions and the evolution of a large-scale microservices environment.
• Support and optimise production systems, including 3rd line support responsibilities.
• Collaborate within Agile teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Drive DevOps practices and support continuous improvement initiatives.
