Job summary

Think FE is recruiting a Security Officer to join Northampton campus, helping to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors. You’ll be a visible presence, monitor CCTV, and patrol the site while engaging positively with learners.

The role requires a valid SIA licence and a full UK driving licence, with the opportunity to contribute to safeguarding and student welfare in a college setting.

Qualifications

• Valid SIA Licence.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Experience in security preferred, especially in public-facing environments.
• Good communication and ability to engage with young people.
• Calm, professional approach to handling difficult situations.
• Clean DBS check (enhanced) including the child barred list.

Responsibilities

• Monitor CCTV network and respond to incidents.
• Carry out campus patrols, including vehicle patrols as required.
• Maintain a visible, approachable presence during lunchtimes and start/end of the student day.
• Support safeguarding of students living on campus in collaboration with Student Welfare.
• Respond to security concerns calmly and professionally and record incidents.
• Report safeguarding or security concerns through appropriate channels.
