Job description
Role purpose

We are seeking to appoint a part time Campaign Manager on a fixed term contract based around Cheshire and Warrington who can help us develop our campaign for the Cheshire and Warrington Mayoral election. This is an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic and ambitious individuals who thrive on an array of new challenges.

Working closely with Regional Campaign staff, our campaign manager will take a leading role in providing focus for campaign priorities in the run‑up to the mayoral election. They ensure effective campaigning is taking place including delivery of leaflets, canvassing and telecanvassing, and work with our volunteer teams to develop activist networks and build our campaigning structures.

Your responsibilities

Developing relations with all associations through regular telephone, email and face‑to‑face contact and reporting any operational difficulties to the Regional Campaign Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring delivery of our campaigning throughout the region
  • Organise action days and mutual aid
  • Recruit volunteers and build regional campaign teams
  • Manage an on‑going voter contact programme, including phoning and door‑to‑door canvassing
  • Project manage the production of regional Party literature and build a delivery network
  • Work closely with candidates, councillors, MPs and elected representatives of all levels
  • Attend association meetings to ensure staff are familiar with local key personnel / activists
  • Produce reports to the Regional Campaign Manager on all campaign activity
Your professional experience
  • Have experience working on elections for the Party, either in a paid or voluntary level.
  • A self‑starter with the ability to take the initiative.
  • A “can‑do” flexible professional approach
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects across multiple campaigns and a wide geographical area. You will be able to drive hard to completion and deliver effective results.
  • Good organisation skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Flexible approach to out of hours working patterns.
  • An ability to develop and empower others.

Timescales

Professional experience and qualifications
  • A genuine interest in social media and how it can be used for campaigning.
  • Some hands‑on experience running social media accounts – even if just personal or voluntary.
  • A willingness to learn tools like Canva, Adobe Premiere Pro or Photoshop (training can be provided).
  • A good sense of what makes content work well online.
  • A team spirit and a positive, proactive attitude – someone who’s happy to get stuck in.
  • The ability to work flexibly, stay calm under pressure and meet tight deadlines when needed.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a car (you’ll sometimes need to travel to campaign teams)
Skills required
  • Strategic Thinking : Ability to develop and implement effective digital campaign strategies aligned with regional and national goals.
  • Digital Content Creation : Skilled in producing engaging digital content (copy, graphics, video) that resonates with local audiences.
  • Platform Expertise : Confident using key digital platforms (e.g. Meta, X / Twitter, Instagram, Canva, Adobe Creative tools, email marketing tools).
  • Analytical Ability : Able to interpret performance data and user insights to improve digital activity and campaign effectiveness.
  • Collaboration : Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work closely with Regional Campaign Managers, candidates, MPs and activists.
  • Project Management : Highly organised, with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines and deliver under pressure.
  • Adaptability : Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, responsive political environment with frequent change and evolving priorities.
  • Training & Coaching : Comfortable delivering digital skills training and mentoring to local campaign teams and activists.
