Leonardo UK Ltd is seeking a senior leader to head large, complex pursuits in the Integrated Defensive Aids System (IDAS) space. You will define strategy, engage primes and partners, and drive capture efforts with ICT leadership.

The role involves UK and international defence procurement exposure and direct interaction with senior stakeholders. You will develop detailed capture plans, win strategies, and oversee proposal drafting, applying your extensive domain knowledge to shape winning

Job Description:

Salary: £70,000 - £78,000

Leonardo UK operates a grade-based salary framework with broad bands. The salary range shown reflects the approved grade band for this role, or a narrower hiring range published within that band, and is benchmarked against the external market. Exceptions above the standard range are managed through governance controls to protect internal equity.

Your impact

You will lead large, complex pursuits in the Integrated Defensive Aids System (IDAS) space, using your significant domain knowledge to help define the strategy and formulate an integrated approach for capture of the business.

This will require considerable external engagement with platform primes, commercial partners, mission data integrators and operators in the air, maritime and land domain. Therefore, you must have excellent communication skills and demonstrate credibility when engaging with customers to negotiate commercial and technical solutions. The role will require direct and indirect leadership qualities when dealing with internal stakeholders and driving the Integrated Campaign Teams (ICT).

What you’ll bring

You will be required to build a detailed capture plan based on the bid strategy to secure pursuit, bid and resourcing approvals. You will also develop bespoke win strategies, support the generation of the position to win for individual campaigns, and oversee the drafting of proposals.

This is a high-profile role focussed on a key growth area for the organisation, with regular exposure to senior leadership and an opportunity to visibly excel and become a significant contributor to the organisation’s success over the next decade.

• You will have a demonstrable record of success in complex environments. What is most important is a strong desire to understand and interpret customer needs and how you translate those needs for the benefit of the business.
• An understanding of air platform protection is essential, as is familiarity with the defence procurement environment in the UK and abroad.
• You will have to demonstrate emotional intelligence, tenacity and resilience.
• The role can be located at our Luton, Basildon, Bristol or Southampton sites.
