Job Summary

Are you an experienced Youth Worker seeking a new opportunity helping support hard‑to‑reach youth groups? We offer a one‑year fixed‑term Youth Worker role, full time within CAMHS, to support a Health Inequalities project.

In this role you will help explore the causes and barriers preventing certain groups from accessing our services and identify ways to improve access for boys, ethnic minorities, Roma communities, the global majority, and young people out of education. You will also audit representation across BaNES, Swindon and Wiltshire (BSW) and work flexibly to meet community needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Audit and evaluate CAMHS provision across BSW to assess representation and accessibility for hard‑to‑reach groups.
  • Provide insights into population data for each geographical area to inform targeted interventions.
  • Plan and manage delivery of targeted outreach and support activities for identified individuals or groups.
  • Develop and maintain effective partnerships with local voluntary organisations, community groups, charities, and faith‑based organisations.
  • Work collaboratively with Police, Youth Justice, Drug and Alcohol services, Children’s Social Care and other partners to address challenges faced by hard‑to‑reach groups.
Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Minimum level 6 Youth Worker qualification.
  • Evidence of CPD.
  • Experience of designing, evaluating and leading groups and individual work for young people.
  • Good communication skills and IT skills.

Desirable

  • Leadership skills.
  • Supervision of others.
Personal Qualities

Strong interest in mental health and addressing health inequalities. Flexibility and ability to work with diverse communities.

Salary & Benefits

Band 6 – £38,682 to £46,580 per annum.

Working Pattern & Duration
