Job summary

The CAMHS Specialist Practitioner role at CNWL NHS Foundation Trust supports children and young people with mild to moderate emotional and mental health difficulties. Based in Kensington and Chelsea, the post works across Primary Care Networks, GP surgeries and community settings delivering assessments, short interventions and care planning.

You will hold a clinical caseload, provide consultation and training to professionals, and contribute to service development and safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering mental health assessments for children and young people.
• Ability to hold and manage a clinical caseload.
• Ability to provide consultation and support to primary care staff and partner agencies.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive mental health assessments and brief interventions for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health needs.
• Hold and manage a clinical caseload, acting as lead professional where appropriate.
• Develop and deliver care plans, therapeutic interventions and psychoeducation for young people, parents and carers.
• Work autonomously within GP practices and Primary Care Networks to support early identification and intervention.
• Provide consultation, advice and training to primary care staff and partner agencies.
• Collaborate with schools, social care and voluntary sectors to ensure joined-up care.
• Undertake risk assessment and safeguarding responsibilities.
• Contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives and evaluation of outcomes.
