Job summary

Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a CAMHS Practitioner to deliver high-quality mental health services for children and young people with complex needs in Tamworth. The role involves conducting assessments, psychosocial interventions, and working closely with families as part of a multidisciplinary team.

You will participate in service development, maintain robust risk assessments, and liaise with a wide range of agencies to ensure care continuity and quality improvement.

Qualifications

• First level professional nursing/AHP/Social Work/Therapy qualification in mental health.
• Professional registration with HCPC, NMC or equivalent.
• Psychological intervention qualifications including EMDR, CBT, CBTp, Family Interventions, CAT, DBT.

Responsibilities

Job description

Are you an experienced Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker or AHP?, Our CAMHS team in Tamworth is looking to recruit a CAMHS Practioner who will deliver a high quality, comprehensive mental health service for children and young people with serious and enduring mental health difficulties. The role involves managing a defined caseload with a focus on working with children and young people and their families who experience a complex range of needs and difficulties. Acting as a key member of the multi-disciplinary team, the post holder will provide assessment, psychosocial, evidence-based interventions using a collaborative approach and will be skilled at risk assessment and management. They will complement the multi-disciplinary working of the team, providing supervision for other team members, as agreed with the Team Lead. In addition you will participate in team and service development and evaluation, and liaise, advise and consult with a wide range of agencies.

• Take responsibility for the management of a complex caseload, which includes, specialist assessment (within service specification), and care planning in conjunction with service user and carer, evaluation of individual treatment plans for CYP with mental health needs.
• Responsible for participating in the setting of quality standards, including the auditing, monitoring and reviewing of practice in line with current clinical guidance practice and
• Assess patient's individual care needs, develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care.
• Deliver a range of interventions in accordance with the agreed plan of care and Pathway guidance.
• Complete and contribute, where appropriate to robust risk assessments and risk management Deliver and promote positive risk taking, where appropriate, to improve quality of life and maximise occupational performance/independence.
• Maintain an effective reporting system by observing and reporting verbally and in writing on patient conditions.

• Attend and contribute to CAMHS Multi-disciplinary team, business and development forums
• Utilise agreed outcome measures to review the effectiveness of interventions, as part of the care planning and evaluation process. Assist in ensuring that the aims and objectives of the service are fulfilled and to identify factors which may inhibit these from being achieved.
  Do you have experience of working with CYP who have difficulty in engaging with services and have complex mental health needs?, First level professional nursing/AHP/Social Work/Therapy qualification in mental health, Social Work Nursing or AHP or equivalent with demonstrable knowledge and continuous post qualified experience/professional development

• Registered practice assessor/supervisor, Experience of working with CYP who have difficulty in engaging with services and have complex mental health needs
