Job summary

Intrepid Healthcare is recruiting experienced Band 6 CAMHS Practitioners to support children and young people across Essex. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced mental health professional to join a specialist Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) team, providing assessment, intervention and ongoing support to children and young people experiencing mental health difficulties.

The successful candidate will be based within the Essex area but must be flexible and willing

Responsibilities

• Undertake comprehensive mental health assessments of children and young people.
• Provide specialist assessment, care planning and interventions.
• Manage a clinical caseload of children and adolescents.
• Assess and manage clinical risk, including safeguarding concerns.
• Develop and review individualised care plans.
• Work with families, carers and wider networks.
• Liaise with schools, GPs and other professionals.
• Maintain accurate records and safeguarding compliance.

The successful candidate will be based within the Essex area but must be flexible and willing to travel to cover additional locations and services across Essex as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake comprehensive mental health assessments of children and young people.
• Provide specialist assessment, care planning and evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
• Manage a clinical caseload of children and adolescents with varying levels of mental health needs.
• Assess and manage clinical risk, including self-harm, suicidal ideation and safeguarding concerns.
• Develop, implement and review individualised care plans.
• Work collaboratively with families, carers and wider support networks.
• Liaise with schools, social services, GPs and other multidisciplinary professionals.
• Provide advice, guidance and specialist mental health support to children and their families.
• Respond appropriately to crisis situations and elevate concerns where necessary.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure compliance with safeguarding procedures.
• Support the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care across multiple Essex locations.
