Job summary

Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust in Greater Manchester is advertising a full-time Band 6 CAMHS practitioner role in the ND team south, covering Tameside, Glossop and Stockport. You will join a dynamic, multidisciplinary mental health service and contribute to neurodevelopmental pathway assessments and care planning.

Responsibilities

• To support neurodevelopmental assessment pathways, completing assessments with young people and families and contributing to MDT discussions and decision making.
• To ensure high quality assessment of children and families referred to the service.
• To provide advice and support to families about appropriate support strategies and signpost as appropriate to external agencies.
• To identify and develop strategies to manage risk to the child and others in line with Pennine Care and CAMHS procedures and protocols.
• To liaise closely with a wide range of agencies regarding individual care packages and to promote awareness of neurodevelopmental and child and adolescent mental health issues within these agencies.

We have an opportunity for a full time Band 6 CAMHS practitioner post in the newly established ND team south covering Tameside and Glossop and Stockport

Education/Qualifications

• NMC nursing or social work or equivalent Health /social care qualification

Experience

• Experience of professional involvement with the users of mental health services.

• Significant post qualification experience in community mental health services Experience of relating to young people in a group or community

Knowledge

• Knowledge of mental health issues in young people
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and National policies in relation to young people

• Understanding of youth offending services
• Knowledge of drug and alcohol issues relating to young people
• Knowledge of neurodevelopmental conditions
