Job Summary

The specialist CAMHS Learning Disability Team are seeking to recruit an additional experienced, nurse, non medical prescriber to join their established, Beacon award winning team.

We are based within Leicester, providing care across the city, county and Rutland for a very complex group of children and young people with a moderate to profound Intellectual Developmental Disability.

Main duties of the job
  • As a senior nurse & non-medical prescriber, the post holder will hold a complex caseload undertaking assessment, diagnosis & treatment of CYP presenting with mental health, ND &/or sleep problems.
  • Assessment of physical health & continued monitoring will be undertaken, in addition to behavioural assessment & input, including direct work with CYP/families & other professionals.
  • All work undertaken by the successful candidate will be underpinned by the NHSE STOMP & STAMP agendas, knowledge of which is required to be demonstrated by applicants in addition to an understanding of other key legislation & events that are driving the care & treatment of people with IDD.
  • The post holder will work within the outpatient service undertaking initial assessment of new referrals alongside MDT colleagues, take part in the duty review rota & the team out of hours on call rota.
  • On-call cover includes evenings, weekends & bank holidays.
  • As part of the CAMHS LDT, the post holder will co-work with colleagues within the MDT as required and also assist in day patient assessments to gain clarity of complex presentations and prevent inpatient admission.
  • As a senior nurse, provision of clinical supervision & line management of staff, will be undertaken in accordance with NMC & trust policies

This role requires the applicant to hold the V300 Independent NMP qualification. Please note this role requires a full UK Driving License and access to a car during working hours.

Ability to work flexibly to meet patient/service need is essential including early morning, late evening & weekends when required.
