CAMHS Intellectual Disability Health Care Support Worker

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a forward thinking and dynamic individual to be our Health Care Support worker in our CAMHS Intellectual Disability Teams working over Rotherham and Doncaster. The service is community and family focused providing assessment, intervention, advice, and support to children with Intellectual Disabilities which may be accompanied with, autism, learning difficulties or emotional and behavioural difficulties and their families.

If you don't already have a Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant subject, RDaSH are offering this post alongside the opportunity for you to complete a Level 3 apprenticeship qualification [relevant to your role].

As an apprentice within RDaSH you will be given the opportunity to gain experience, learn work-related skills and obtain all the tools needed to thrive.

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. Around 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying. This leads to a nationally recognised qualification.

Whether you already work for us or are joining the Trust and NHS for the first time, apprenticeships can help you to develop the skills, knowledge and know-how in order to embark on a successful and fulfilling career within the health service.

Responsibilities
  • To support and enhance the professional care of clients within the service by delivering a range of delegated clinical health duties and therapeutic support for children, young people and their families, under the supervision of a qualified professional member of the team.
  • Support children, young people and families with Intellectual Disabilities and their support needs through, one to one work under supervision of qualified staff.
  • Provide children, young people and families with sensory support, under supervision by a member of the team.
  • Undertake health observations of height, weight, and blood pressure and complete relevant record keeping.
  • Be able to work in a variety of settings such as school, home and group settings.
  • Undertake behavioural observations with supervision.
  • Provide and receive information from young people and their families, NHS, education and social care colleagues and the voluntary sector.
  • Organise own diary and workload in line with job plan, have the ability to be able to adapt and prioritise.
  • Have a can-do attitude, sense of humour and adhere to the Trust's Values.
