Job Description
OVERVIEW

The Camera Operator & Editor, Originals plays a central role in shaping the visual identity of CNBC’s original video, podcast and events content. Working across all franchises in their region, they are responsible for capturing cinematic footage and delivering polished edits that meet the highest editorial and production standards.

This role combines technical expertise with creative vision. From field shoots to post-production, the Camera Operator & Editor ensures each video is visually compelling, brand-aligned and optimized for platforms like YouTube, broadcast and social media. They collaborate closely with producers and the creative team to elevate storytelling through camera work, lighting, framing and editing.

The role requires regular travel for field production and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset. Experience with cinematic camera systems and Adobe Premiere is essential; proficiency in After Effects is a strong advantage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Film and edit Originals content across all franchises in the region, ensuring visual consistency and high production value.
  • Collaborate with producers to plan shoots, select locations, and execute creative direction.
  • Operate camera systems and manage lighting, audio, and framing on location.
  • Edit mid-form and long-form video content using Adobe Premiere, delivering final cuts that meet editorial and platform-specific standards.
  • Support the development of motion graphics and visual enhancements in collaboration with the creative team.
  • Maintain and manage camera and editing equipment, ensuring readiness for studio and field production.
  • Travel regularly for field shoots, adapting quickly to different environments and production needs.
  • Contribute to visual storytelling decisions, offering creative input on framing, pacing and style.
  • Work across Originals teams in the region, supporting multiple producers and projects simultaneously.
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
  • 3–6 years of experience in camera operation and video editing, ideally within documentary, feature, or digital storytelling formats.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere and experience with cinematic camera systems.
  • Strong understanding of visual storytelling, lighting, and composition.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to editorial accuracy.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly for field production.
