Job summary

British Antarctic Survey (BAS) are looking for a Commercial Cleaner to support the Cambridge based BAS Estates team. The role involves developing superb working relationships with staff and visitors. Flexible working (Mon-Fri) is offered, and the post is not suitable for hybrid working.

The role covers cleaning duties across offices and facilities, with emphasis on health and safety, and requires reliability and ability to work independently as part of a team. Security screening is required.

Qualifications

• General standard of education
• Computer literate
• Proven skills working independently with minimum supervision
• Good communication skills in listening and instructions

Responsibilities

• Empty bins and replace liners
• Vacuum and sweep floors
• Damp mop floors
• Polishing
• Clean sanitary areas
• Dusting
• Waste/recycling duties
• Cleaning of toilets and kitchenettes
• Topping up hand towels and soap dispensers
• Provide cover for sickness and holidays
• Work within Health and Safety Policy
• Other duties as directed by the manager
