Job summary

Interaction Recruitment are seeking a practical and motivated Calibrating Technician to join our engineering client's growing team near Northampton. You will inspect, calibrate, repair and assemble specialist railway measuring equipment and track gauges, with detailed calibration work and documentation.

This role offers stable Monday-Friday hours, an early finish every Friday, full training on specialist equipment, and a temp-to-perm opportunity within a well-established railway engineering

Qualifications

• Solid mechanical knowledge or engineering experience.
• Good practical skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to follow technical procedures and use measuring tools.
• Experience with hand tools and calibration environments is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Calibrating specialist railway measuring equipment and track gauges.
• Inspecting, repairing and assembling components and sub-assemblies.
• Measuring and testing equipment and recording calibration results.
• Maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring quality standards.
• Following workshop procedures and health & safety requirements.

Calibrating Technician

Location:Northampton, Brackmills
Pay: £14.00 per hour
Hours:

• Monday to Thursday: 07:45 - 16:30
• Friday: 07:45 - 12:45

Interaction Recruitment are seeking a practical and motivated Calibrating Technician to join our engingeering clients growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with mechanical aptitude and a hands-on approach who enjoys working with precision equipment and problem-solving.

The Role

As a Calibrating Technician, you will be responsible for the inspection, calibration, repair and assembly of specialist railway measuring equipment and track gauges.

Your duties will include:

• Calibrating specialist railway measuring equipment
• Measuring and testing track gauge equipment
• Carrying out repairs and adjustments
• Mechanical assembly of components and sub-assemblies
• Recording calibration results and maintaining accurate documentation
• Inspecting equipment to ensure compliance with quality standards
• Following workshop procedures and health & safety requirements

Calibrations are detailed and methodical, typically taking several hours to complete, making this role ideal for someone who takes pride in accurate and high-quality work.

What We're Looking For

• Mechanical knowledge or engineering experience

• Strong problem-solving skills and common sense
