Job summary

Isio is expanding its Client Onboarding & Change team and seeks a Calculations & Benefits Analyst to support pension calculation projects across new business and regulatory initiatives. The role is hybrid with offices in multiple UK cities and visibility across the business.

You will bring advanced Excel skills, strong attention to detail, and a commercial mindset to design, test, and deliver calculation solutions with high quality outputs.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of UK Defined Benefit and UK Defined Contribution schemes.
  • Able to interpret complex pension rules and technical documents.
  • Experience with calculation-based roles in pensions.

Responsibilities

  • Support design and delivery of calculation solutions and implementations.
  • Develop calculation proformas, test grids, and documentation.
  • Perform user acceptance testing and investigate discrepancies.
  • Embed new systems and processes into BAU with stakeholders.
  • Communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Identify process improvements and contribute to transformation initiatives.
  • Take ownership of tasks and meet agreed timelines.
  • Support governance, risk management, and post-implementation reviews.
  • Coach junior colleagues and contribute to team development.

Job description

We are expanding our Client Onboarding & Change team and are seeking a Calculations & Benefits Analyst to support high-quality delivery within our Calculations & Benefits Team. You’ll play a key role in delivering pension calculation and implementation projects of varying scale, including new business and regulatory initiatives (e.g. GMP equalisation, Pensions Dashboards).

Working closely with Administration, Systems, BAU teams, and external stakeholders, this is a highly visible role with exposure across all levels of the business.

This role can be based in our Manchester, Reading, Croydon, Birmingham or Bristol city centre office with a hybrid workstyle.

What does the role entail?

We are looking for an individual with strong excel skills, excellent attention to detail, an understanding of scheme rules and good communication skills. You should have a strong technical understanding, a commercial outlook, and an entrepreneurial mindset. Your key responsibilities will be to support the team manager by:

  • Support the design, build, and delivery of calculation solutions and implementation projects
  • Develop and review calculation proformas, test grids, and documentation
  • Perform user acceptance testing and investigate calculation discrepancies
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to embed new systems and processes into BAU

What we’re looking for
  • Good understanding of UK Defined Benefit and UK Defined Contribution pension schemes
  • Advanced Excel and analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail
  • Experience in calculation-based roles within defined benefit pensions
  • Proven involvement in implementations, change and/or transformation projects
  • Ability to interpret scheme rules, technical documents, complex requirements and deliver practical solutions
  • Commercially aware with a proactive, problem-solving mindset, focused on quality and client outcomes
  • Clear and confident communicator, able to engage a range of stakeholders
  • Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise and manage competing demands
