Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Parthian Climbing Southampton. We are looking for an experienced Cafe Supervisor for our onsite café. We pride ourselves on delivering great coffee and delicious seasonal menus and cakes in a truly unique environment.

What does the role entail?

Being responsible for the day-to-day running of the cafe, ensuring high standards of health and hygiene, customer service and produce are delivered. In addition to this, involvement in general reception tasks, including shift and staff management.

Main Duties

  • Being responsible for the day-to-day management and operation of the café.
  • Ensuring the café is appropriately stocked, ensuring all produce meet quality standards. This includes placing orders.
  • Food preparation including handling of animal products.
  • Ensure the health and safety of staff and customers.
  • Working to guarantee that the highest standards of service and products are adhered to and delivered.
  • Overseeing Café Assistants, including identifying required training, and mentoring.
  • Café staff communications including new products, special offers and events.
  • Conducting stock takes including wastage reports.
  • Ensuring staff and café cleanliness are maintained at a high level at all times.
  • Ensuring processes and procedures are being adhered to.
  • Planning and when requested, conducting cafe staff training.

Previous supervisory experience in a cafe environment is preferable.

This is a 20 hour per week role on a variable hour’s contract, which will require working across the opening hours of the business, including evenings and weekends.
