Job summary

Morrisons in Newcastle-under-Lyme is seeking a proactive Café Manager to lead a welcoming team and drive great service in our store cafés. You’ll ensure stock availability, safety, and daily operations run smoothly, while delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Reporting to Store Management, you will plan shifts, train colleagues, and push for performance against targets in a busy retail environment. A passion for people and service is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience leading and supporting a team in a fast-paced food or hospitality environment.
• Confidently running shifts and handling daily priorities.
• Strong communication to build a supportive team.
• Focus on food safety, waste reduction and stock availability.
• Willingness to step up as Manager in Charge when needed.

Reporting directly to the Store Manager, you’ll bring a proactive approach to running a welcoming, vibrant Café. You'll lead your team to deliver outstanding service, keep stock availability high, and make sure every customer leaves happy.

In this role, you’ll be on hand to:

• Put customers first: Empower your team to deliver friendly, attentive service, listening to customer feedback to make sure our Café is always a warm, welcoming place to pop by.
• Lead and support your team: Manage shift rotas, attendance, and talent development, delivering training so colleagues have the confidence to succeed and grow.
• Drive performance and standards: Lead an encouraging, performance-driven department, guiding colleagues to work with purpose against all operational and sales targets.
• Keep operations running smoothly: Plan resources thoroughly, manage daily team routines, and build strong working relationships with other store departments.
