Job summary

Tesco Cafés is looking for dedicated team members to support our Back of House operations, ensuring every dish meets our menu promise while keeping the kitchen clean and tidy. You’ll contribute to a friendly, efficient service that makes customers feel welcome.

Responsibilities

• Keep kitchen equipment and utensils clean and tidy.
• Serve customers quickly, efficiently and with care.
• Follow food safety and hygiene regulations while keeping daily records.
• Practice FIFO stock rotation to keep food fresh.
• Accept deliveries and ensure safe storage of food.
• Follow all operational policies and procedures.
• Prepare, cook, and serve food as per the café menu.
• Ensure food products are available and standards are met.
• Know the café’s menu inside out and serve accurately.
• Resolve customer complaints and pass on information to the Café Manager.
• Stay up to date with business communications and new initiatives.

You will be responsible for

Whilst specific responsibilities will be dependent upon the changing needs of Tesco as a business, the following provides an overview of the role’s key responsibilities and measures:

• Keeping kitchen equipment and utensils clean and tidy.
• Serving customers quickly, efficiently and with care.
• Following food safety and hygiene regulations while keeping daily records.
• Practising first in, first out (FIFO) stock rotation to keep our food fresh.
• Accepting deliveries and handling the safe storage of food.
• Being aware of (and following) all operational policies and procedures.
• Preparing, cooking, and serving food according to our cafés
• Making sure we maintain our standards and all food products are available.
• Knowing our café’s menu inside and out and serving food exactly as it’s intended.
• Resolving customer complaints and passing on information to the Café Manager.
• Staying up to date with business communications and exciting new initiatives.
