Job summary

CVL:LDN is seeking a CAD Technician to support major UK civil engineering and power infrastructure projects, producing detailed drawings and route plans for LV and 11kV networks. You will work within the Design Team, collaborating with design engineers and project managers to ensure drawings meet client specifications and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a CAD Technician within utilities, electrical infrastructure or civil engineering.
• Proficient in AutoCAD with detailed drawings and layouts.
• Understanding of utility infrastructure design, LV and 11kV networks.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; strong organisational and document management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail; able to manage multiple design tasks to deadlines.
• Proactive and well-organised with strong communication in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Producing detailed technical drawings, utility route plans, as-laid drawings and schematic diagrams to support infrastructure delivery.
• Preparing designs for LV and 11kV electrical installations, including site layouts, cable routing plans, single-line diagrams and material schedules.
• Producing and updating CAD drawings in accordance with client specifications, engineering standards and project requirements.
• Liaising with design engineers, project managers and operational teams to ensure drawings and documentation are accurate and timely.
• Supporting design assurance processes; ensuring drawings comply with regulations, health and safety requirements and procedures.
• Maintaining accurate design records and incorporating amendments throughout the project lifecycle.
