Hill McGlynn is working in partnership with a leading construction consultancy specialising in interior fit‑out and refurbishment projects, to recruit a detail‑oriented and creative CAD Technician to join their team in Maidstone. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative and design‑led business that delivers high‑spec commercial interiors across a range of sectors.

The Role

As a CAD Technician, you'll support the design and technical teams by producing accurate drawings and technical details for a variety of interior projects. You'll be involved in space planning, construction detailing, and helping to bring creative design concepts to life with precision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create detailed 2D CAD drawings from design briefs and mark‑ups
  • Update and revise drawings to reflect design changes
  • Prepare layouts, floor plans, elevations, and technical sections
  • Assist in preparing drawings for planning and building control submissions
  • Coordinate drawings with consultants, contractors, and internal teams
  • Support project delivery from design through to construction
Ideal Candidate
  • 1–3 years' experience in a similar CAD Technician role within construction or interior design
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (SketchUp or Revit knowledge a bonus)
  • Ability to interpret architectural and construction drawings
  • Keen eye for detail and spatial awareness
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Relevant qualification in CAD, Construction, Architecture or Design an advantage
