Job description
CAD Technician - Formwork Design Hull | £33,000 - £35,000 (depending on experience)

This is a hands‑on design role where your drawings actually become part of the UK's infrastructure. You'll be designing permanent formwork systems used on bridges and major civil structures – cantilever panels, haunched panels, lightweight panels, coper units – the kind of work that stays put for decades.

Forget endless tweaks to someone else's standard drawings. Here you'll take full ownership from concept to production, solving practical design challenges with a tight‑knit team that trusts you to get it right.

Every drawing you produce here ends up built into something that will stand for decades.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Creating detailed 2D and 3D models using Inventor, Revit or AutoCAD
  • Designing bespoke formwork and structural components for bridge and civil projects
  • Liaising directly with clients and production to make sure your designs work in reality
  • Visiting sites occasionally to see your designs in action and resolve challenges face‑to‑face
  • Feeding ideas into product development and new GRP solutions
What You'll Bring
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Inventor and/or Revit
  • Solid technical understanding gained from at least 3 years in a CAD or design‑engineering role
  • Curiosity about how things are built and a problem‑solving mindset
  • A bit of initiative – this isn't a box‑ticking design office

You’ll get a stable, varied engineering role in a specialist sector that’s genuinely different. You’ll see your designs built, trusted, and out there in the real world. If you're the kind of person who takes pride in solid, practical engineering work – you'll fit right in.
