Jobbeschreibung

Behind every well-delivered ground investigation is a set of drawings and geospatial outputs that make complex information clear, accurate and usable. At Stantec, we know that the quality of our CAD and GIS work directly shapes the quality of our technical delivery, and we take it seriously.

As AMP8 drives one of the most significant infrastructure investment cycles in a generation, our Water Ground Assessment Team is growing to meet the demand. We are looking for an experienced CAD and GIS Technician to become an integral part of that team, supporting geotechnical and geoenvironmental deliverables across major infrastructure and development projects. If you are technically strong, detail-oriented and ready to work at the heart of a fast-moving, ambitious team, we would love to hear from you.

About The Role

You will be responsible for the production, management and coordination of high-quality drawings, working closely with geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineers to support the full range of ground investigation and ground assessment deliverables.

Your work will include site layout plans, exploratory hole location plans, utility plans, geological cross sections and other technical drawings, as well as the management and processing of geospatial information, survey data, mapping datasets and utility records. You will maintain drawing registers, ensure compliance with project-specific CAD standards and quality procedures, and work within managed common data environments in line with ISO 19650.

You will also contribute to the development and improvement of CAD standards, templates and workflows, and bring the organisational discipline to manage multiple projects effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

Your Impact

The drawings and geospatial outputs you produce will underpin our engineers' understanding, communication, and delivery of complex ground assessment work across some of the UK’s most significant infrastructure programmes. Accurate, well-structured and clearly presented technical information makes better projects, and your contribution sits at the foundation of that.

As a core member of a growing team, you will also have the opportunity to help shape how CAD and GIS capabilities develop within the Ground Assessment group, leaving a mark that goes well beyond any individual drawing set.

About You

You hold an HNC, HND, degree or equivalent qualification in CAD, Civil Engineering, Geomatics, Surveying, GIS or a related discipline, or you bring equivalent industry experience. Relevant Autodesk, GIS or information management qualifications would be a welcome addition.

You bring several years of experience and are an expert AutoCAD user with strong proficiency in Civil 3D. You have a detailed understanding of Geographic Information Systems, are fully conversant with geospatial measurement systems, and have a solid working knowledge of ISO 19650 and managed common data environments.

Experience supporting geotechnical, engineering geology, geoenvironmental or ground investigation projects would be a real advantage, as would familiarity with Leapfrog or Open Ground. Most importantly, you bring the precision, reliability and collaborative approach that a busy, technically demanding team depends on.
