Job summary

Kitson Associates in the Midlands is seeking a CAD Technician to join our growing highways and infrastructure team. You will produce technical drawings, assist with design packages, and help deliver schemes from feasibility through to construction.

Ideal candidates will have strong AutoCAD skills, knowledge of ARCADY, PICADY and LINSIG, and a proven ability to manage workload and deadlines. A full UK driving licence and good stakeholder communication are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the design and delivery of highway and infrastructure schemes.
• Producing technical drawings, calculations, and design packages.
• Supporting projects through the feasibility, detailed design, and construction stages.
• Liaising with utility providers, Local Highway Authorities, and external stakeholders.
• Assisting with technical approvals and ensuring compliance with highway standards.
• Preparing reports, schedules, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Supporting senior team members with project delivery and programme management.

£30,000 – £40,000 + Bonus + Package

We’re working with a growing engineering consultancy specialising in highways, transport planning, and infrastructure projects across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a CAD Technician to join their Midlands team.

The Role

• Assisting with the design and delivery of highway and infrastructure schemes


• Producing technical drawings, calculations, and design packages


• Supporting projects through the feasibility, detailed design, and construction stages


• Liaising with utility providers, Local Highway Authorities, and external stakeholders


• Assisting with technical approvals and ensuring compliance with highway standards


• Preparing reports, schedules, specifications, and cost estimates


• Supporting senior team members with project delivery and programme management

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience within highways, infrastructure, or consultancy environments


• Excellent AutoCAD skills


• Working knowledge of ARCADY, PICADY, and LINSIG


• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities


• Able to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines


• Confident communication and interpersonal skills


• Full UK driving licence
