Job summary

McLaren Racing seeks a technically skilled professional to support design and engineering processes across PLM, CAD, CAM and CAE systems. You will help enhance design workflows, implement improvements from requirements to deployment, and build bespoke racing automations on client or server sides.

Qualifications

• Detailed understanding of Dassault Systèmes tools and products, especially CATIA and 3DExperience.
• Proficient in programming languages and technologies such as VBA and Python, interacting with CATIA and/or 3DEXperience.
• Experience of software development, design and methodologies.
• Version control and distribution using such systems as GitLab, GitHub.
• Customer support experience.
• A drive to learn and develop related skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide design process enhancements within the McLaren PLM/CAD/CAM/CAE system.
• Identify, monitor and manage process improvement measures.
• Drive improvement process from requirements capture through to testing and deployment.
• Creation of and supporting bespoke Racing automations (CAx) Client side and/or Server side as needed.
• Development and maintenance of the existing code base.
• Extend the unit testing, use case and quality improvements of the features and functionalities currently deployed.
• Provide user assistance when called upon.
• Document and publish ‘how to’ guides as and when deemed necessary.
• Deliver end user training in appropriate subjects as required.
• Generate, support and manage service requests with McLaren Racing software suppliers where appropriate.

Job description

Working across the Technical Design and Operational functions, this role works towards ensuring that McLaren Racing is at the forefront of the design and engineering processes.

Our ultimate goal is to ensure that the maximum amount of time is dedicated to design development and the minimum to non productive or nugatory activities.

Role Dimensions:

Woking based. Occasional travel required. Standard working hours but flexibility to work additional hours as and when required.

Principal Accountabilities:

Day to day support to design and engineering functions including;

• Provide design process enhancements within the McLaren PLM/CAD/CAM/CAE system.

Qualifications

Essential

• Detailed understanding of the Dassault Systemes tools and products especially CATIA and 3DExperience
• Proficient in programming languages and technologies such as VBA and Python, interacting with CATIA and or 3DEXperience.
• Experience of software development, design and methodologies
• Version control and distribution using such systems as GiTLab, GiTHub
• Customer support experience.
• A drive to learn and develop related skills

Preferable

• JPO development in a 3DExperience environment.
• Web services scripting, developing and interrogation including testing tools such as Postman.
• Experience or exposure to Dassault Systemes proprietary languages such as EKL.
• Aerodynamic surfacing & CFD knowledge.
• Mechanical & composite design knowledge.
