Job summary

Searley Owen in Hinckley is seeking an Applications Engineer (CAD / Mechanical / Electrical) to work closely with customers and internal teams from concept to delivery. The role involves CAD design, technical proposals, and hands-on problem solving on varied projects.

Ideal candidates will have mechanical/electrical background, SolidWorks experience, and the ability to travel. The position offers development opportunities within a supportive engineering team and the possibility of international

Qualifications

• Mechanical, electrical or electronic engineering background.
• CAD experience with SolidWorks.
• Strong technical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence speaking with customers.
• Hands-on and practical approach.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel when required.

Responsibilities

• Producing CAD drawings, layouts and technical presentations.
• Supporting customers with technical product enquiries.
• Producing technical proposals, reports and engineering documentation.
• Providing technical support, troubleshooting and fault finding.
• Supporting project delivery and customer installations.
• Assisting with product testing and evaluation activities.
• Carrying out quality inspections on incoming components.
• Supporting quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Working closely with Engineering, Production, Procurement and Customer Service teams.
• Occasional UK and international travel to support customers and installations.
