Job description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical CAD Engineer to join a growing engineering team supporting a range of Ministry of Defence (MOD) and defence‑sector projects.

You will be responsible for producing high‑quality electrical designs and technical documentation to support the development, upgrade, and integration of complex defence systems.

Job Responsibilities

• Produce 2D and 3D electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and cable harness designs using CAD tools
• Maintain design standards, revision control, and configuration management in line with MOD compliance and documentation protocols
• Conduct design reviews and resolve technical queries throughout the project lifecycle
• Ensure all designs meet relevant defence, industry, and regulatory standards

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Electrical CAD Engineer in a defence, aerospace, marine, rail, or highly regulated engineering environment
• Strong experience with electrical CAD software and schematic/drawing production
• Understanding of electrical systems such as power distribution, control panels, signal routing, or instrumentation
• Eligibility for UK security clearance (SC)
