CAD Design Engineer | Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire | Full Time | £40,000 – £42,000 Per Annum

Our client is a long-established engineering company specialising in the design, manufacture, and installation of industrial ovens, dryers, and furnaces, primarily for the aerospace industry. With over 40 years of experience, they deliver custom-built solutions for a wide range of thermal processing applications, including heating, curing, and cooling, with advanced equipment capable of handling temperatures up to 1300°C.

Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an additional CAD Design Engineer to support an expanding workload.

Are you the right person for the job?
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and 3D is essential
  • Knowledge of Inventor is an advantage
  • An understanding of steel construction techniques is beneficial
  • Experience in designing light to medium weight structural steel frameworks is desirable
  • Knowledge of air movement systems (ductwork, plenums) would be advantageous
What will your role look like?
  • Develop conceptual designs for thermal processing plants
  • Design and produce detailed drawings for steel frameworks (ovens, dryers, furnaces)
  • Design product handling systems to meet customer specifications
  • Prepare workshop fabrication drawings, including cutting lists
  • Create sales drawings to support tenders and proposals
  • Liaise with production teams to ensure accurate project delivery
