GTS Group Ltd in Northampton is seeking an experienced CAD/CAM Programmer to join our precision engineering team, producing components for advanced industries including Formula 1, aerospace and automotive.
You'll create accurate CNC programs for 3-, 4- and 5-axis machines, using SolidWorks where needed, and work with the Engineering Manager to optimise manufacturing strategies. This is a programming role, not machine operation.
Know your way around complex 3, 4 and 5-axis CNC programming?
We're looking for an experienced CAD/CAM Programmer to join a growing advanced engineering manufacturer in Northampton, producing specialist components, patterns and moulds for some seriously interesting industries.
Think Formula 1, aerospace, automotive, marine and advanced engineering.
This is a programming role – you won't be required to operate or run the CNC machines.
Working alongside the Engineering Manager and manufacturing team, you'll be responsible for creating accurate, efficient CNC programs and developing the best manufacturing strategy for each job.
You'll need strong previous experience as a CAD/CAM Programmer / CNC Programmer within a precision engineering environment.
Experience with SolidWorks would be useful, but isn't essential.
You'll also need a good understanding of 3, 4 and 5-axis machining methods, toolpaths, tooling and workholding – but again, this isn’t a CNC Machinist position.
Experience within Formula 1, motorsport, aerospace or high-performance automotive would be particularly interesting.
