Job summary

A leading construction company in the UK is hiring a Cabling Database Engineer for a full-time position. The role is predominantly remote with minimal site requirements. Key responsibilities include updating the cable tray network database, supporting data management processes, and acting as a liaison with software providers. Essential qualifications include proficiency in MS Office and experience in data management. Training will be provided.

Qualifications

  • Up to intermediate level of proficiency with MS Office programs.
  • Experience managing large volumes of data.
  • Able to obtain a BPSS Security clearance.

Overview

Our client is one of the largest construction companies within the UK with internationally‑renowned experience in the successful delivery of technically demanding, multi‑disciplinary and logistically complex projects.

They now have an exciting new opportunity for a Cabling Database Engineer.

Role details

Monday - Friday, permanent full‑time role.

This role will be 10% site based and 90% remote/office based – flexible on location (ideally Glasgow or Bridgwater).

Accountabilities
  • Update & maintain cable tray network in the database.
  • Support configuration‑management checks on inputted and reported data.
  • Regular reporting on cable data upload and processing.
  • Import of data.
  • Upload cable routes into the CMPIC database.
  • Maintain cable management reporting activities / keep cable lists up to date.
  • Ensure accurate loading of data by the team.
  • Act as liaison between the software company (Cloudis) and MEH Alliance.
  • Learn and understand how to resolve CMPIC error codes.
  • Assisting with site support/queries when required.

(Full training will be provided on internal systems).

Essential
  • Up to intermediate level of proficiency with MS Office programs.
  • Further Education academic qualification (minimum HNC, preferably an engineering discipline, but not essential).
  • Experience managing large volumes of data.
  • Able to obtain a BPSS Security clearance.
Advantageous
  • Knowledge & experience of cable installation in an industrial setting.
  • Knowledge & experience of applying robust quality processes & procedures.
  • Knowledge & experience of AutoCAD (or similar).
