Responsibilities
- Assist senior engineers in field development activities, including site surveys, installation/commissioning, monitoring and optimisation of infrastructure or equipment.
- Support the planning and execution of development tasks – e.g., civil/mechanical/electrical works, cabling, equipment setup, or systems deployment in data centres / infrastructure environments.
- Help collect and analyse data (performance metrics, commissioning results, fault logs) and participate in troubleshooting and root cause investigation.
- Maintain engineering documentation: drawings, service reports, install/commissioning checklists, change logs.
- Ensure adherence to health & safety, quality, and regulatory standards during field works.
- Work closely with cross‑functional stakeholders (design engineers, project managers, vendors, onsite teams) to coordinate logistics, schedule works, and support hand‑over.
- Undertake training and professional development to build technical background in relevant domains (electrical, mechanical, infrastructure services, cabling, etc.).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Engineering – Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Infrastructure, Telecoms – or related technical discipline.
- Understanding of engineering principles and ability to interpret drawings, specifications and site instructions.
- Good communication skills – able to liaise with field teams, contractors and internal stakeholders.
- Willingness and ability to travel to sites; flexible working conditions (onsite, sometimes remote).
- Basic proficiency with MS Office; desire to learn engineering software / commissioning tools.
- Strong attention to detail, safety‑conscious mindset, proactive attitude to learning and development.
Desirable Qualifications
- Some prior exposure or internship in field engineering, data‑centre operations, infrastructure deployment, cabling or commissioning.
- Knowledge of CAD/AutoCAD, wiring/cabling standards, structured cabling, mechanical services, or equivalents.
- Any relevant certifications (e.g., safety training, permit‑to‑work awareness, site technician certificate) would be beneficial.
