Job summary

Arm is seeking a C# Software Engineer for a 12 month contract based in Stevenage or Bristol. The role involves developing defence simulation components using C# and C++, in an agile team, with CI/CD and testing practices. SC clearance is required for this position. The day rate is 65ph inside IR35.

You will work across Windows and Linux environments, and collaborate with simulation architects to deliver end-to-end representations of weapons systems in a synthetic environment.

Qualifications

• Proficient in C# and C++ development for desktop/embedded systems.
• Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems and tools.
• Knowledge of simulation standards and web services development.

C# Software Engineer

12 month contract

As the C# Software Engineer, you will be working alongside a market-leading Defence and Aerospace company who are constantly growing and developing. Due to the nature of the work you will be involved in, SC clearance is required.

You will be involved in:

• Support the development of advanced defence systems from the initial concept all the way through to in-service support and training, using a range of simulation technologies, including digital twins and emulators
• Working with Project Leads and Simulation Architects to design and develop simulation components as an end-to-end representation of a weapon System in a synthetic environment using C#, C++, and integration simulations
• Work as part of an agile development team, made up of mixed-discipline engineers working in synergy to develop simulations and representations of real equipment
• Approach to software development includes:
  • Configuration control
  • Continuous Integration
  • Continuous Delivery or Deployment.
  • Unit testing and test-driven development.

Your skillset and experience:

• Proficient in C# / C++
• Microsoft Visual Studio, Eclipse
• Ability to work from high level/system view into technical detail
• Knowledge of using Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems
• Distributed simulation standards / Protocols (DIS, HLA, DDS) and web services development (JavaScript, Node JS or similar) Military Communications
• Datalinks and Interfaces such as 1553/1760 and Ethernet TCP/IP
• Practical knowledge of System integration principles and processes
