Job summary

AMB Recruitment Group is seeking a Control & Instrumentation Technician for a 6‑month contract in Greater Manchester. The role involves hands-on inspection, calibration, fault-finding, and breakdown response within a COMAH-regulated site.

The ideal candidate has experience in chemical/process manufacturing, a strong calibration skillset, and familiarity with DCS systems (Honeywell/DeltaV/ABB/FOXBORO). Weekday day shifts and immediate start are available.

Qualifications

• Experience as a C&I/Instrument Technician in chemical/process manufacturing.
• Strong calibration and fault-finding skills.
• ATEX/hazardous area awareness.
• Experience with DCS systems suitability to role.

Responsibilities

• Carry out statutory inspections on site instrumentation and control equipment.
• Perform calibration of transmitters, control valves, switches, and gauges.
• Diagnose and resolve faults across instrumentation and control systems (DCS/PLC/relay).
• Respond to breakdowns and work with weekly plan.
• Install, maintain and repair instrumentation and control systems.
• Work safely in a COMAH-regulated hazardous environment.
