Job summary

Matchtech is recruiting a C/C++ Software Engineer on a 6-month contract for a defence/aerospace client in Cheltenham, hybrid working. You will develop robust embedded software for military aircraft, vehicles, civil aerospace and unmanned systems. Require high proficiency in C/C++, bare-metal embedded software, and experience with Git, containers, CI/CD.

• High proficiency in C and C++ software development.
• Experience writing bare-metal embedded software.
• Understanding of software development lifecycles, requirements and verification processes.
• Experience with Git, containerised development environments and CI/CD workflows.
• Familiarity with debugging tools, hardware interfaces and safety analysis techniques.

Our client, a leading developer of mission-critical and safety-critical systems for the defence and aerospace sectors, is seeking a C/C++ Software Engineer for a contract opportunity. The role will involve developing robust embedded software for applications used across military aircraft, vehicles, civil aerospace and unmanned systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Defining requirements, designing, developing and verifying software across a range of integrity levels
• Producing high-quality C and C++ code in line with internal software standards
• Developing and testing bare-metal embedded software
