Job summary

McGregor Boyall is partnering with a leading financial markets technology firm in London to recruit a Senior Back End Engineer. You will work with traders, architects and principal engineers to build high-performance trading systems that process real-time data.

The role focuses on backend development, distributed systems, AWS cloud, and APIs, with hybrid office attendance (3 days in the office) and opportunities to transition between C# and Java backend stacks.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial C# or Java experience.
• Trading systems experience in any asset class.
• Cloud experience, ideally AWS.
• Distributed systems knowledge.
• Front office technology experience.

C# / Java | Front Office Trading | AWS | Distributed Systems

Location: London

Hybrid: 3 days in the office

We're partnering with one of the world's leading financial markets technology firms as they continue investing heavily in their electronic trading platforms.

This is an opportunity to work directly with traders, architects and principal engineers building business critical trading systems that process high volumes of transactions in real time.

Although the team primarily develops in C#, they are very open to experienced Java backend engineers looking to transition into .NET.

What you'll be doing

• Building high performance backend trading applications
• Designing scalable distributed systems
• Developing APIs and backend services
• Working closely with traders and front office stakeholders
• Contributing to architecture and technical design
• Modernising cloud based infrastructure
• Working across the full software development lifecycle

What they\'re looking for

• Good understanding of software design principles
• Some desktop UI experience would be beneficial
