A leading retail and technology firm in the United Kingdom seeks an Assistant Buyer to shape product ranges and build supplier relationships. The role requires strong knowledge of garment construction and experience in designing products for the UK market. You will negotiate deals, review customer insights, and help deliver quality products on time across all channels. Flexibility in work arrangements is supported, ensuring a work-life balance.
We’ve got an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Assistant Buyer. In this role, you’ll play a key part in shaping ranges, building supplier relationships, and making sure our customers get the products they love.
From spotting new suppliers and negotiating deals, to reviewing customer insights and driving product innovation, you’ll be hands‑on across every stage of the buying process. You’ll also support promotions, events, and supply chain activity - helping us deliver quality products, on time, in every channel.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; PowerPoint and CLO 3D experience is a bonus.
• Strong understanding of garment construction, fabrics, and print techniques.
• Ability to create detailed technical briefs and communicate design intent clearly.
• A collaborative mindset with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience in mentoring and developing junior team members.
• Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proven experience in designing Ladies Nightwear or ladieswear trend product for the UK market (jersey or woven background).
• Strong commercial awareness and a passion for innovation and trend research.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver innovative, high‑performing designs to tight deadlines.
