We are looking for a Buying Assistant to join our Indirect Procurement Team where you will support our Indirect Buyer with your first‑class administration skills, while working closely with our indirect goods and services suppliers. You will fully utilise your exceptional communication skills to build and maintain relationships with existing and new suppliers, in a pacey, varied role, great team environment, where no two days are the same.

To sustain and underpin our growth, we have invested over £35 million in a brand new, 5‑acre warehouse and state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing site in Burntwood, Staffordshire.

Our Buying Assistant will:
  • Support the Senior Buyer to maintain a steady supply of quality, cost‑effective goods and services from approved suppliers
  • Foster strong and effective working relationships with suppliers to deliver savings and process efficiencies for indirect spend categories
  • Assist the Buyer to negotiate, agree, manage, and measure supplier performance against defined SLAs
  • Manage Indirect Procurement Administration including raising and monitoring purchase orders, delivery and service queries, ordering consumables for the business, collecting data and maintaining records on our ERP system (IFS)
  • Participate in a diverse range of procurement and supply chain projects
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across all departments
Our Buying Assistant will have:
  • Procurement experience in a similar role, or be willing to learn
  • Administration experience in a busy customer/client facing team
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build lasting working relationships internally and externally
  • A natural curiosity, with a creative and innovative approach to problem solving, and a passion for continuous improvement
  • A positive and can‑do attitude
  • First class attention to detail
  • ERP system experience, with strong administrative, organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Live within a 45‑minute commute of Burntwood
