Job summary

Rebecca Udall is seeking a meticulous Buying Assistant to support range planning, product development and supplier management. You will help keep critical paths and product information organized, ensuring new launches meet deadlines.

The role offers exposure to end‑to‑end buying in a fast‑growing luxury homeware brand. Working closely with cross‑functional teams, you will analyse sales, support price and margin reviews, and help with supplier negotiations and samples.

  • Manage supplier interactions and help with supplier onboarding and quotes.
  • Assist with weekly trading and category performance analysis.
  • Provide accurate product information to internal teams and eCommerce.

Our collections champion European heritage alongside artisan and heritage craftsmanship – from hand-painted crockery and Murano glassware to hand-stitched bed linens.

About the Role

The Buying Assistant will support the Buyer across product development, range planning, supplier management, trading and product operations.

This is a varied, hands‑on role suited to someone highly organised, commercially curious and passionate about beautiful product. You will play an important role in keeping ranges, suppliers and critical paths organised, ensuring that accurate product information is available to internal teams and that newness launches on time.

Working closely with the Buyer, Merchandising, Product Development & Design, Supply Chain, eCommerce and Marketing teams, you will gain broad exposure to the end‑to‑end buying process within a fast‑growing luxury homeware brand.

Key Responsibilities
Buying & Range Support
  • Support the Buyer with range planning, range reviews and new development
  • Maintain accurate range plans, ensuring product information, costs, pricing, margins, quantities and launch dates are complete and up to date.
  • Support the set‑up and maintenance of product data across internal systems and working documents.
  • Assist with range reviews and preparation for internal sign‑off meetings.
  • Help identify range gaps and opportunities through sales analysis, competitor research and customer insight.
  • Support the Buyer with curated collections, collaborations and range expansion projects.
  • Coordinate samples for range reviews, photography, marketing activity and internal meetings.
Product Development & Critical Path
  • Maintain and update the department critical path, following up with suppliers and internal teams to ensure key deadlines are met, flagging information as required
  • Track the progress of new products from initial brief through sampling, costing, approval, production and launch
  • Support the Buyer with product packaging and branding
  • Ensure approved product specifications, packaging requirements and product information are clearly communicated to suppliers and relevant internal teams
  • Help ensure new ranges are accurately and efficiently handed over to stakeholders
  • Act as a day‑to‑day point of contact for suppliers, supporting the Buyer in maintaining strong and professional supplier relationships.
  • Request and maintain supplier quotations, costings, lead times, MOQs and other commercial information.
  • Prepare information for supplier negotiations and meetings.
  • Support maintenance of supplier records, scorecards and supporting documentation.
  • Support the preparation of supplier reviews and SWOT analysis
  • Assist with purchase order administration and ensure purchasing information is complete and accurate.
  • Support supplier onboarding and ensure required commercial and product information is collected.
Trading & Commercial Analysis
  • Assist with weekly and monthly sales reporting and category performance analysis.
  • Prepare information for weekly trade meetings, highlighting best sellers, slow sellers, stock risks and opportunities.
  • Monitor product and category performance and support the Buyer in identifying actions.
  • Assist with competitor analysis, including product assortment, pricing, promotions, launches and emerging trends.
  • Support pricing and margin analysis, checking that costs and retail prices are accurately reflected in range plans.
  • Work with the Buyer and Merchandiser to support stock planning, repeat orders and OTB management.
  • Develop a strong understanding of category performance, customer behaviour and commercial KPIs.
Cross-Functional Working
  • Provide accurate and timely product information to eCommerce, Marketing and Customer Service
  • Support Marketing with product information, samples and upcoming launch details.
  • Work with stakeholders to track production and delivery timelines
  • Attend internal range and trade meetings and ensure actions are clearly recorded and followed up
  • Build positive working relationships across the wider team and suppliers
