Job description

Good Tuesday is a design-led stationery brand and a certified B Corp. We create beautiful tools that help people plan their time with purpose. We believe good planning creates space for what really matters. We may be small, but we have all the makings of an iconic brand: impactful products, a loyal community and a strong sense of purpose. We're growing quickly, and we're looking for curious, kind and capable people who want to help build a company that uses business as a force for good, while having fun along the way.

About The Role

As our Buy & Merchandising Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring we have the right stock, in the right place, at the right time and at the right margin. The core of the role is demand forecasting, inventory planning and purchase-order management. You will monitor sales and stock closely across ecommerce, wholesale and marketplace channels, identify reorder requirements and work proactively with suppliers to keep production and deliveries on schedule.

Because we place frequent, relatively short-run orders, this is a hands-on role. You will stay close to sales, stock, supplier lead times and purchase-order activity, while you continue building the systems, reporting and processes needed to make planning increasingly efficient and scalable.

We use AI-enabled tools, automation and data systems to improve forecasting, reporting and decision-making. You do not need to be an AI specialist, but you should be confident in adopting new tools, validating their outputs and using technology to work more accurately and efficiently.

Forecasting, Inventory and Merchandising
  • Analyse sales and stock data across ecommerce, wholesale and marketplace channels to forecast demand and inventory requirements
  • Build and maintain SKU- and channel-level forecasting models
  • Monitor sales, stock cover, sell-through and product availability on a daily basis
  • Respond quickly to changes in demand, wholesale orders, marketing activity and product performance
  • Track forecast accuracy and continuously improve planning assumptions
  • Identify potential stockouts, excess stock and slow-moving inventory early and recommend corrective action
  • Balance product availability with margin, cashflow, minimum order quantities and stockholding risk
  • Produce clear weekly and monthly sales, stock and performance reports for internal use
Buying and Supplier Management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers
  • Raise and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy of pricing, MOQs and lead times
  • Request and compare quotations and negotiate pricing, MOQs, lead times and commercial terms
  • Build and maintain product costing and margin calculators to inform supplier negotiations, pricing and purchasing decisions
  • Maintain product records and ensure internal systems reflect accurate data
  • Manage quality issues, shortages, delays and pricing discrepancies through to resolution
  • Assess and monitor suppliers against Good Tuesday's ethical, sustainability and product standards, aligning with BCorp, including our requirements around recycled materials, responsible production and product quality
Assortment and Commercial Planning
  • Work alongside the Product Design team to support commercially strong product assortments
  • Analyse category, format, design, price-point and channel performance to identify gaps, duplication and opportunities
  • Provide data-led recommendations on range breadth, product quantities, channel assortments and product discontinuation
  • Assess proposed ranges against expected demand, margin, MOQ requirements, cashflow and stock investment
  • Provide commercial analysis while the Product Design team retains ownership of creative direction and final range selection
Data, Reporting and AI-Enabled Tools
  • Use AI-enabled tools and systems to improve forecasting, reporting, analysis and information sharing
  • Build and maintain clear dashboards, forecasting models and inventory reports
  • Use automation to reduce repetitive administration and improve the speed and accuracy of planning
  • Review and validate AI-generated outputs, ensuring recommendations are accurate, commercially sensible and supported by the underlying data
  • Maintain strong data discipline and ensure the information used for planning is accurate and current
Critical Path and Cross-Functional Planning
  • Help maintain the product critical path and ensure key sampling, ordering, production and launch dates are met
  • Communicate clearly with Product, Design, Operations, Finance and Marketing regarding upcoming launches, stock arrivals and supply risks and have accurate visibility of expected intake and product availability
  • Support planning for seasonal peaks, wholesale markets, product launches and major promotional activity
Requirements
About You
  • At least four years' experience in merchandising, demand planning, inventory planning, commercial buying or a related role
  • Strong experience in sales forecasting, stock management and purchase-order planning
  • Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills, including formulas, pivot tables, lookups and forecasting models
  • Confident using AI-enabled tools to support analysis, forecasting, reporting and process improvement (training will be provided)
  • Able to combine data, technology and sound commercial judgement
  • A clear and confident communicator who can manage multiple suppliers, internal stakeholders and timelines
  • Experience working across ecommerce and wholesale channels is desirable
  • Experience in a multichannel consumer-product business is desirable
  • Experience working with print suppliers and an understanding of commercial printing processes, materials and finishes is desirable
