THE OPPORTUNITY

We’re excited to be recruiting for a Buyer to join our Buying team, playing a key role in developing beautiful, commercially successful ranges for our Joma Jewellery brands. This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded and product-focused Buyer who loves spotting trends, understanding the customer and turning creative ideas into desirable jewellery ranges that deliver.

Working closely with Design, Merchandising and our supplier partners, you’ll make an impact by taking ownership of your allocated categories from initial range development through to product delivery, ensuring every collection balances creativity, quality and commercial performance. You’ll also bring your experience in developing people to support and coach junior team members, helping drive high standards and a collaborative approach across the team.

If you’re a Buyer with experience in jewellery or a related product industry, this could be the perfect opportunity for you! The role is Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm. You’ll enjoy the exciting buzz of our stunning head office in Banbury, Oxfordshire, spending an average of three days a week in the office, with the flexibility to work from home on the remaining days. During key seasonal sign-off periods, you’ll also need to be in the office for full weeks to support collaboration and decision‑making.

BEHIND THE BRANDS

We’re a family-run, entrepreneurial company with an exciting pace of life and a bright and friendly team. We are passionate about creating stunning products with a personal touch and innovating our business behind the scenes. We value creativity, collaboration and integrity.

HOW YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE
Strategy & Planning
  • Translate agreed department and category strategies into clear plans and priorities across allocated jewellery categories.

  • Develop and manage category option frameworks with Design and Merchandising, aligned to buying plans, budgets and commercial objectives.

  • Provide commercial insights and recommendations to the Buying Manager to support category planning, pricing and growth opportunities.

  • Identify opportunities to improve range balance, profitability and performance across B2B and B2C channels.

Product Development
  • Lead the development and delivery of trend-led, customer-focused jewellery ranges that reflect brand identity and commercial objectives.

  • Work closely with Design and Merchandising on range selection, architecture and option development, providing clear commercial direction.

  • Negotiate product costs within agreed parameters, delivering margin targets and identifying opportunities to improve profitability.

  • Oversee sampling, product development and approvals, resolving challenges and escalating significant commercial decisions when required.

Data & Process Management
  • Maintain accurate buying documentation, including option plans, pricing calculations, margin reviews and handover files.

  • Validate product costs, margins and retail prices ahead of key sign-offs.

  • Analyse sales performance using reporting tools, including Power BI, to identify risks, opportunities and corrective actions.

  • Make informed commercial decisions within agreed parameters and drive improvements in buying processes, data accuracy and team efficiency.

Supplier Management & Critical Path
  • Manage day‑to‑day supplier relationships, ensuring delivery against cost, quality, development and timing expectations.

  • Lead supplier negotiations within agreed parameters and identify opportunities to improve product development, efficiency and commercial performance.

  • Monitor supplier performance, addressing issues and supporting supplier reviews, sourcing recommendations and new supplier opportunities.

  • Manage critical path milestones across allocated categories, ensuring deadlines and product sign‑offs are achieved.

  • Oversee junior team members’ critical path activities, proactively resolving delays and escalating significant risks.

Quality Control & Compliance
  • Oversee product quality and compliance across allocated categories, ensuring jewellery meets agreed quality standards and relevant regulations.

  • Ensure testing, approvals and compliance requirements are completed accurately and on time.

  • Work with suppliers and junior team members to resolve quality issues and improve product standards.

  • Monitor recurring concerns and elevate significant quality or compliance risks appropriately.

Cross-Department Collaboration
  • Build strong working relationships with Design, Merchandising, PR, Marketing, Creative, Web, VM, Retail Operations and other relevant teams.

  • Lead category meetings, communicating product updates, commercial performance, priorities, risks and actions.
