Role Summary

Buyer, Supply Chain Team

The Buyer supports the Procurement Manager and the wider Supply Chain Team, managing demand from order placement to dispatch and ensuring materials availability in line with production plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead cost reduction initiatives and manage price variances.
  • Build and maintain supplier relationships, ensuring performance meets requirements for delivery (OTIF), cost, and quality.
  • Participate in project procurement for development and NPI.
  • Support supplier selection, audits, and strategic negotiations.
  • Contribute to process development and effective use of IFS (ERP) systems.
  • Adhere to Health & Safety and environmental policies.
  • Apply risk management principles in line with IATF standards.
  • Demonstrate company values and pursue personal and team development.
Key Skills and Attributes
  • Confident, analytical, and methodical thinker with excellent problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple procurement activities simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of logistics, supply chain management, and inventory control principles.
  • Assertive communicator able to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
  • Commercially aware with strong attention to detail and structured approach.
  • Effective communication skills for liaising with suppliers and internal stakeholders, together with timely communications and collaboration across all business levels.
